Amankora Paro Review
Located about 45 minutes from Paro town, this is the Amankora lodge where guests typically stay at the end of their journey. The lodge, which is bigger than the other Amankoras, has 24 suites in separate buildings nestled along a rushing river with streams circumventing the property. The sound of rushing water, the cover of fir trees and the mountains in the distance make this lodge special. Bhutan’s most famous temple built on the edge of a cliff, the Tiger’s Nest, is nearby—and the two-hour hike up makes for an ideal final day on an Amankora journey. Spacious suites are designed in Aman’s minimalist style with Bhutanese-style windows framing the sumptuous views, blonde wood paneled walls, soaring ceilings, a freestanding deep soaking tub, and a traditional wood-burning bukhari to keep guests cozy on chilly nights. For those who have completed the Aman circuit, this property ties all the lodges together nicely.
