The latest in a series of Insider Journeys to Africa, our Discovering Madagascar itinerary offers adventurous members the opportunity to explore one of the most precious, untouched island gems of the Indian Ocean. Members will join trip guides Melissa Biggs Bradley—the founder and CEO of Indagare—and Cédric de Foucault—the naturalist behind the eco-luxury retreat Anjajavy le Lodge—and researchers from the Wildlife Conservation Society for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the incredible nature and wildlife that makes this island country one of the rarest, most diverse and critically-endangered habitats in the world.
What to Expect
Researchers, conservationists and scientists, including team members of the Wildlife Conservation Society, Cédric de Foucault of Anjajavy le Lodge and your host Melissa Biggs Bradley will guide you through an astounding introduction to the diverse and endangered natural landscapes and wildlife of Madagascar.
As the planet’s wondrous ecosystems become increasingly threatened, we believe that travel can perform a meaningful role in their survival. Members will be able to interact with previously undiscovered and nearly extinct species in the wild, as well as many socialized animals like lemurs, dolphins and turtles. The journey will also feature city tours in the capital Antananarivo, exploration in the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, eco-luxury rainforest accommodations and exciting outdoor activities at Anjajavy le Lodge, as well as the possibility to add a post-trip stay at the dreamy Miavana resort for beachfront relaxation and reflection.
