    3 Days: Essential Punta Mita

With a customized itinerary that features special access to resorts, guided tours and classes in cooking, surfing and golf, you can enjoy the best of Punta Mita. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day One:

Settle into your hotel and then head to the beach (on property or at a nearby surf spot), for an afternoon surfing lesson. The coastal beaches all have calm waters that are perfect for beginner surfers. After a soothing spa treatment, enjoy dinner on the beach. You can dine on fresh fish and lobster as you listen to the rolling waves and sample the margarita menu.

    • Day Two:

This morning, drive or take a taxi to Sayulita, a charming village located about 10 miles from the Punta Mita hotels. Once a small fishing town, Sayulita now attracts a stylish crowd of visitors and expats thanks to its local cuisine, artisan shopping and laid-back vibe. Return to your hotel for a few hours on the beach, then experience a change of scenery (without leaving Punta Mita) for dinner at Sufi, the restaurant at the beach club in Porta Fortuna. The setting, on a raised terrace, offers unobstructed sea views and a fresh, Mediterranean-Mexican menu.

    • Day Three:

Today, visit the Marieta Islands, a UNESCO world heritage site, with a guide. This natural rock formation is home to approximately 70 species of indigenous birds. Adults and older teenagers can swim through a cave to visit the island’s “Hidden Beach,” a small inlet created by erosion. After seeing the islands by boat, grab scuba gear to explore the waters below. Bandera’s Bay is home to over 100 species of fish and is known for its extensive amount of fauna. End your stay with a multi-course dinner at one of Indagare’s recommended restaurants.

Indagare's Phoebe Briggs
“Punta Mita is ideal for those looking to either unplug or work up a sweat (or both). There are dozens of activities for every type of traveler, and Indagare can arrange for special day trips and experiences, like a private helicopter flight or a visit to a nearby tequila distillery.”
