2 Days: Essential Québec City
Québec City’s major sights can be seen in just two days, so visitors are free to sit back and enjoy one of the last remaining cities where leisure is a priority. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.
Day 1: Morning
Acclimate to the slow pace of life in Québec City with a stroll or carriage ride through the Lower Town, known for its narrow, cobbled streets, famous square (the Place Royal) and proximity to the St. Lawrence River. Enjoy lunch at a classic bistro along the waterfront.
Day 1: Afternoon
After lunch, take the funicular up to Upper Town, which is the city’s religious and administrative center, with its churches, convents and other monuments like the Dauphine Redoubt, the Citadel and Château Frontenac. Walk along the ramparts, a three-mile stretch of wall that encloses most of Old Québec. Enjoy dinner at a beloved French restaurant.
Day 2
On your second day, shop at gourmet markets (including the oldest grocery store in North America) and antique shops. Have lunch at Québec City’s best crêperie, and then enjoy a ferry ride to see the beautiful city from the water.
