    6 Days: Essential Jordan

The best Jordan itineraries include special access, private touring, overnighting in the desert and seeing Petra by night. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day 1 - 2: Amman

Explore the highlights of Amman with an expert guide who will introduce you to the diverse people of this rich and proud land. Sites includes the Citadel of Philadelphia (ancient Amman) with its layers of archaeological remains; the dynamic city center with its ancient souks; and the National Gallery of Fine Arts and Darat Al Funun. Indagare can arrange a tour of the Jordan River Foundation (an artisanal workshop and boutique supported by Queen Rania) and/or the Shoman Foundation (a contemporary art gallery with edgy exhibits.)

    • Day 3 – 4: The Route to Petra

Spend the next two days exploring along the route to Petra. First, head northwards to the city of the thousand columns: Jerash, before traveling to the Dead Sea and taking a dip in the mineral-rich water (and perhaps treating yourself to a treatment of black mud applied right on the shoreline). Next, head up to Mount Nebo, one of the holiest sites in the Middle East and on the glorious city of Kerak to visit one of the largest crusader castles in the Middle East. Explore this mysterious fort and let the underground galleries whisper the secrets of the legendary cavaliers that once lived there.

    • Day 5 – 6: Wadi Rum and Beyond

Next, explore the city of Petra–the eighth wonder of the ancient world— with your guide. Opt for a “Petra by Night” tour, which showcases the site illuminated by hundreds of candles. For the next leg of your journey, drive to your campsite and explore the magnificent Wadi Rum desert. Enjoy a jeep ride with a Bedouin guide, and after you’ve had your fill of exploring, you may wish to try a camel ride. Your next stop is the city of Aqaba, where you can enjoy an afternoon of snorkeling in the crystalline water of the Red Sea.
