Winter in Zermatt
Zermatt is home to almost 200 miles of skiable pistes that are accessed by 74 lifts spanning three ski areas. While the majority of the pistes at Zermatt are intermediate, there are areas with runs for all levels of ability. The ski season in Zermatt can begin as early as November and end as late as May, while the Klein Matterhorn glacier at 12,740 ft. is skiable 365 days.
Summer in Zermatt
In the summer months, Zermatt is a spectacular place to hike, climb and paraglide. With more than 200 miles of hiking and walking trails, Zermatt and its neighboring villages offer a wide selection of trails of varying difficulty. For those who are looking for a dose of adrenaline and an intimate view of the mountains surrounding Zermatt, paragliding is a popular option.

Travelers can visit the Matterhorn museum, attend music concerts, indulge at the spa or visit the historic St. Mauritius church at any time of the year. Skiing the Klein Matterhorn is also available 365 days a year.
