Lima

Anchored by its historic center, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, Lima is a lovely place to explore for a night or two before venturing on to Peru’s main attractions. The city has been gentrified and is home to colorful architecture and some cool shops and cafés.

Elise Bronzo
“Lima is a much more interesting city than it is given credit for. My favorite experiences were culinary ones: a food tour of a local market, during which I got to try esoteric fruits, and a stop at a local cevicheria.
Indagare insider Grimanesa Amorós
“Central is a favorite spot of mine in Lima thanks to its owner Virgilio Martínez Véliz, who makes patrons feel the research and development behind each of its plates. Every time I go I feel like I am at a culinary laboratory.”
